Diversity or Exclusion? Psychoanalysis ‘Explains‘

Abstract

In this article I am not going to offer the kind of ‘integration’ of different considerations of ‘race, caste, class’ suggested by the title of the panel from which this piece derives. It is too big a task and in any case leaves out a lot of other intersectional factors such as gender, sex, sexuality, religion, disability. What can be done, perhaps is to begin to think through the ways in which these and other elements of social positioning produce specific textures of force, violence, care, minoritisation, destructiveness and possibility.
